Description

Come along to the Green Flag award-winning Arnot Hill Park for a day of live music, creative workshops and vibrant, colourful performances. The fair celebrates diversity, recognising the 75th anniversary of the Windrush arrivals and other migrant communities that have joined and enriched our communities in that time, and will be an inclusive and multicultural community celebration. The event also celebrates 75 years of the National Ukraine Cultural Society.

City Arts are bringing their fabulous giant bird puppets to the park! Look out for them on a carnival procession around the park with the Brazilian Cultural Centre and Can Samba drummers. Homemade Theatre will be performing outdoor theatre. The Black Miners Touring Heritage Museum are bringing their 'Digging Deep' exhibition and The Nottingham Legacy Makers Group will be at the fair.

There will be a Youth Zone with Nottinghamshire County Council's Youth Service including craft activities and T shirt painting by the Youth Shelter from 1-4pm. Skate Nottingham will be running a skate jam on the skate park from 1-4pm, for new and established skaters. Nottingham City Artists Network will be creating Pride themed art work next to the skate park and Gedling Play Forum will be providing children's play activities.

The Midlands Melanin Market will be providing stalls showcasing local African and Caribbean artists and makers and there will also be community and charity stalls and street food traders from across the borough.

There will also be a fun fair in the park and performances on the stage throughout the day, including kora player Suntou Susso, artisits and poets from PHlexx Records, a Brazilian jazz ensemble and Ukranian choirs.

Hot weather update

The weather on the day is expected to be hot and sunny (NG5 - BBC Weather) with temperatures expecting to reach 26°c. Attendees are advised to dress appropriately, use sun cream and bring water with them. There will be a number of activities spread out across the park, with many using gazebos and tents for shade.
