Gedling's Finances

We deal with council payments and help prepare our annual budget, which determine what each department has to spend over the coming year.

This year the department has a duty to collect in the region of £45.5million, as well as collecting money from borough tax payers for:

• Nottinghamshire Police
• Nottinghamshire County Council
• Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service

Like all local authorities, we are required to show our service represents good value for money by annually reporting our income, expenditure and balance for the financial year gone by.

Each year our accounts are checked by the District Auditor who provides an audit certificate and their opinion of whether these fairly present our financial position.
