Chief Executive - John Robinson
John Robinson is the Council’s Chief Executive. He is the most senior member of staff and is responsible for ensuring that the Council is run effectively and efficiently.
John joined Gedling in 2008 as Deputy Chief Executive and took up the Chief Executive’s role in January 2011.
John held a number of senior positions at Nottingham City Council – finishing there as the Director of Environmental Services - and also spent 6 years at Peterborough City Council.
John is a member of the Board of West Nottingham College and Nottingham Regeneration Limited and also a Trustee of Trent Vineyard.
John is married with three sons and spends the majority of his spare time watching, coaching or playing sport.
When taking over as Chief Executive of Gedling Borough Council John said:
I consider it a real privilege to be taking on the role of Gedling’s Chief Executive and am looking forward to getting stuck into this new challenge. Gedling Borough Council is already performing well so my job, working alongside elected members, staff and partners, is to ensure that we continue to improve for the benefit of the people who live in the borough and come here to shop, work and visit.
