Corporate Director - David Wakelin

Dave's new director responsibilities include direct services, public protection and asset management.

I believe that local communities have the right to the very best public services as possible, so from this perspective I will be working along my Service Managers and their teams to delivery excellent performance that supports the Councils vision and its commitments to the people of Gedling. I will be particularly keen to see teams from various professional disciplines within the Council working together and with other external partners to improve the quality of daily life across the Borough.

The plans to locate the Clinical Commissioning Group (Health Professionals) within the Councils Offices and the local Police Neighbourhood Teams in the building within the depot area are really exciting developments for us and will open up a range of opportunities to make a real difference in how we deliver service. Effective partnerships offer in difficult financial times the means to succeed and I will doing by best to make these happen.

Gedling Borough Council has a proven track record of delivering good service – with you, I welcome the opportunity to work alongside you to deliver excellent service over the coming months.
