Corporate Director - Mark Kimberley

Mark joined Gedling in April 1991 as Manager of Audit Services. After several other roles at the council Mark was appointed as Chief Finance Officer in January 2005 and more recently given the role of Corporate Director in January 2012.

As one of 4 Corporate Directors at the council Mark supports the Chief Executive in providing leadership to the Council as a whole as well as acting as lead director for the following services Customer Services and IT, Revenue Services along with Audit and Risk Management.

In addition Mark is also designated as the Council Chief Financial Officer and works closely with the Councils Financial Services Section to ensure the proper administration of the financial affairs of the Authority, as well as providing financial advice to the Council and it’s elected Members, Cabinet and Senior Officers of the Council.

Linked to the Chief Financial Officer role Mark has a responsibility to Gedling’s Taxpayers to help ensure the Council provides value for money across the range of services it provides, to support this he works closely with the both Corporate Directors and Service Managers to improve both the efficiency and performance in service delivery.

Away from work Mark is married with two daughters, plays a range of sports especially Hockey were he has played for Mansfield Men’s’ Hockey Club since 1980.
