Time’s running out to get your home insulated for free during 2012. Until the end of this year households in Gedling can take advantage of free loft and cavity wall insulation for their home regardless of their income, thanks to Warmstreets, the only insulation scheme endorsed by Gedling Borough Council.

Police are urging car owners to ensure the keys to their vehicles are kept safely locked away to thwart thieves. The message comes after analysis of nine burglaries in which car keys were stolen in Rushcliffe, Broxtowe and Gedling so far this month. Seven of them were as a result of burglars gaining access through an unlocked door or window.

Lloyds TSB and Gedling Borough Council will today join forces to help first time buyers purchase a home with a deposit of just 5%. The Local Lend a Hand product will be available in local branches of Lloyds TSB from today.

Gedling Borough Council announced in February that it had set aside £20,000 in its budget to fund the set up costs of the 20 Special Constables who will be specifically assigned to the borough.
