There are now more ways to keep up-to-date with news, events and activities taking place across the borough. As well as Contacts Magazine and our website you can also get the latest information by following us on Twitter or Facebook.

Facebook

Facebook is the most popular social networking site, with more than 500 million people signed up. It allows you to connect with your family and friends, share information with others and learn more about people you meet.  We have created two Facebook pages to promote events and activities taking place across Gedling borough.

Twitter

Twitter is an instant messaging service which allows you to ‘tweet’ in 140 characters or less to people who subscribe as your ‘follower’. Followers can view these updates on their own Twitter pages or have them sent to their mobile phones.

QR Codes

Picked up your latest copy of Contacts magazine and have seen this funny looking square barcode and wondered what it is? This is known as a QR Code and you will start to see these a little more across the borough.

QR codes (Quick Response Code) work is a similar way to a bar code, but allow you to access information straight from your smartphone. A smartphone is an advanced mobile phone, which allows you access to the internet, emails and install apps.

Each QR Code will link you to a webpage on our website or to any of our social media sites
