We received over 2,000 responses from local residents, visitors and businesses on what they thought of the proposals.

Following the four week consultation period, we received over 2,000 responses from local residents, visitors and businesses on what they thought of the proposals. The consultation included a number drop in sessions and public exhibitions as well as an online questionnaire and survey.

Council officers spoke face to face with more than 1’500 residents as part of the events, as well as speaking with over 50 traders and businesses about what the plans mean to them. A summary of the main feedback can be found in our Consultation Summary Document

Now that residents and business have been able to look at the designs and ideas, the council will work through the feedback and continue to develop the project. Despite the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, the council is keen to continue with the plans for Arnold Market, and will be working to review designs and move forward with the proposals. The Council’s Regeneration Team are now working to finalise a scheme, taking into account the feedback and comments received, with the next steps for the project including creating a detailed business case and submitting a planning application around the summer.

More updates will follow shortly.
