Before you apply for a site licence, you will need to discuss the development with Development Control at this Authority for planning permission purposes. A site licence cannot be issued until such permission is obtained.
The site licence sets conditions that cover a range of health and safety standards that will apply to the whole site e.g. ensuring adequate fire precautions, road infrastructure, provision of water supplies and electricity.
If after making your application you have not heard from us within a reasonable time please do not hesitate to contact us as detailed above. Where a licence is refused you have the right of appeal the the Magistrate's Court.
Before issuing a licence, we must take the following points into consideration:
There are more than 50 standard conditions that apply to the licensing of caravan sites, additional to a number of specific conditions application to the respective sites. A copy of the site license must be displayed at the site, usually in the site office.
Once licensed, our licensing officers will arrange periodical visits and inspections to make sure the agreed standards are maintained.
Once the site licence has been issued periodic inspections will be undertaken to ensure continued compliance with the site licence conditions.
