The Gambling Act 2005 requires licensing authorities to produce and make available their Gambling Statement of Principles at least every three years.
The Gedling Borough Council Gambling Statement was approved at the full Council meeting on the 4th November 2009 and came into force on the 31st January 2010.
Alcohol licensed premises can make gaming machines available for use under the Gambling Act 2005. They have the automatic right to make one or two gaming machines available for use or they can apply for a licensed premises gaming machine permit for more than two machines.
The Gambling act 2005 allows any charity or similar organisation which wishes to run a lottery or raffle where tickets are to be sold to the general public to first register with the Council for the area.
The Gambling Act defines a track as a horse racecourse, greyhound track or other premises on any part of which a race or other sporting event takes place or is intended to take place.
