About Economic Development
The main aim of Gedling Borough Council’s Economic Development Section is to contribute to a vibrant and prosperous Greater Nottingham, ensuring our borough has access to services, jobs and opportunities.
There are five main priority areas of work:
- Reducing unemployment and worklessness
Working with partners to identify and tackle barriers to employment
- Raising local skills levels to meet the needs of employers
Work with partners to provide and raise awareness of local development
opportunities
- Regenerating town and neighbourhood shopping centres
Review the ‘health’ our local shopping centres and progress re-development
- Improving access to jobs and training through Infrastructure
developments
Ensuring conditions in the borough are right to encourage new investment
- Stimulating enterprise and the right conditions for business
Provide access to high quality business support and generate opportunities
for business to business trading
