This section allow you to find your local registery office and facilities along with details about tracing your family history.
Your baby must be registered in the district where the birth took place within 42 days of the birth. This can often be done at the hospital before the mother goes home, or at your local register office.
You normally need to register a person's death within five days, and when someone you love has died this can seem like a daunting task. We manage three cemeteries across the borough, as well as offering help and advice to the recently bereaved, family historians and anyone looking to plan for the future.
If you want a religious marriage ceremony, you can get married in England and Wales in an Anglican church or any other religious building registered for marriage. For civil marriages or civil partnerships, you can attend a register office or an approved venue.
