Your baby must be registered in the district where the birth took place within 42 days of the birth. This can often be done at the hospital before the mother goes home, or at your local register office.
Nottinghamshire has a number of different registery offices. In Gedling has one office with in the borough in Carlton which is managed by Nottinghamshire County Council.
If you can't go to the Nottinghamshire registery offices you can go to another office (still within 42 days) and the registrar will send your details to the appropriate district office. If the baby was born in England or Wales however, it must be registered in England or Wales.
