All our prices are effective from 1 February 2012 and invoices must be paid within 28 days from the date of invoice.

Burial of non residents

We provide cemeteries primarily for the benefit of our residents, which means our fees and charges may be considerably higher for non-residents of the borough.

Anyone that has lived in the borough for 12 of the preceding 36 months may be buried in our cemeteries for our standard residents’ charge.

Time spent by Gedling residents in a hospital or institution outside the borough during this time will also count towards eligibility for our standard charges.

Purchasing a grave

You can purchase exclusive Rights of Burial to grave spaces in our Carlton and Gedling cemeteries for up to 50 years, with more information available on our Purchasing a grave page.

Inscriptions on all headstones and kerbs must have the grave number, the stonemason’s name, town, residence and the year the stone was erected. (For example: Section A Row G Number 235; Ace Masons Ltd; Arnold; 2001)
