To prevent and investigate outbreaks of legionelloisis, the Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992 require businesses to notify the local authority where their premises are situated if they contain cooling towers and/or evaporative condensers.
While registration is required by legislation (application form-see right) once you have applied you can continue to use the equipment without further involvement by this Authority. We will acknowledge your application but if you have not heard from us within a reasonable amount of time please contact us as detailed below. If you have a change to the equipment requiring registration please let us know so we may update the registration. A register of registrations are required to be made available by local authorities on request. You can also choose to register or change your premises notification online (see right).
