Each year we will publish a number of accounts and reports for everyone to view.  These will be available online in as many formats as possible to meet with our Open Data standards.

Public Inspection of Accounts and the exercise of electors’ rights

The Council’s accounts are subject to external audit by Andrew Bush of KPMG LLP, St Nicholas House, 31 Park Row, Nottingham, NG1 6FQ, and members of the public and local government electors have certain rights in the audit process. The Council’s Statement of Accounts must be made available for a single period of 30 working days, to include the first 10 working days of June.

 

  1. The period for the exercise of public rights will commence on Friday 1 June 2018 and end on Friday 13 July 2018. During this period, between 9.00am and 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 4.45pm Friday any person may inspect the accounts of the Council for the year ended 31 March 2018 and certain related documents (comprising books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records) at the address given below.  They may also make copies of the accounts and documents. Please contact me at the address below to make the necessary arrangements.

 

  1. From 10.00am on 13th July 2018 until the conclusion of the audit process, a local government elector for the area of the Council, or his/her representative, may ask the auditor questions about the accounts.  Any such questions must be lodged with the auditor by 11 August and the auditor must refuse to consider them if they are lodged after this date. Please contact the auditor, Andrew Bush, at the address given above to make arrangements to ask any questions.

 

  1. From 10.00am on 13 July 2018 until the conclusion of the audit process, a local government elector for the area of the Council, or his/her representative, has the right to object to the Council’s accounts asking that the auditor issue a report in the public interest. Written notice of a proposed objection and the grounds on which it is made must be sent to the auditor at the address given above and copied to me at the address given below. Any such objection must be lodged with the auditor by 13 July and the auditor must refuse to consider it if it is lodged after this date.
