The Council has started work on a review with the Local Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE). This review will initially look at the number of Borough Councillors. We currently have 50 and are considering a reduction of around 10.

The Commission will run a three stage consultation process completing around May 2013, when a new Review Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations will take place.

There will be a six week consultation on the number of Councillors, run by the Commission, starting in mid-March 2012, to which anyone can submit a representation. The Commission will then decide the number of Councillors we need.

The last two stages look at how the boundaries are arranged to account for this new number, usually called warding. The first stage of warding consultation is due to start near the end of June 2012.
