MP & MEPs

Members of Parliament (MPs) are elected in general elections.  The last election took place on 6^th May 2010 and saw Vernon Coaker (lab) retain his seat for Gedling borough.

Gedling borough also covers a part of Sherwood in which Mark Spencer (con) stands.

MEPs

72 UK MEPs were elected in the European Parliament elections on 4 June 2009. The UK is divided into twelve electoral regions made up of the nations and regions of the UK.  The following represent the East Midlands:

• Glenis Willmott (Lab)
• Derek Clark (UKIP)
• Emma McClarkin (Con)
• Bill Newton Dunn (Lib)
