If a property is unfurnished, undergoing structural works, or a second home then you may be entitled to an exemption or reduction in your Council Tax.
If you are a single adult in a property then you may be entitled to a 25% reduction in your Council Tax
If you are a full time student you may be entitled to a discount or full exemption from paying Council Tax
If your are registered disabled and your home has been adapted to meet your needs then you may be entitled to a reduction in your Council Tax
If a person is diagnosed by a doctor to be severally mentally impaired and is in receipt of certain benefits then they may be exempt from paying Council Tax
If you are living in a property giving care and the person needing the care is in receipt of certain benefits then you could be entitled to a reduction in your Council Tax
If you are living in a property as part of a religious community or if a property is left empty by a minister of religion then certain discounts and exemptions may be applied to reduce your Council Tax
If you are under 20 and recently left college or school then you can apply to be exempt from Council Tax for the period between leaving school or college and going on to further or higher education.
If you are in employment on an apprenticeship course and earning does not exceed a certain amount you may be entitled to an exemption from Council Tax.
If a property is used as living accommodation for armed forces or you are a visiting diplomat then you may be entitled to an exemption from Council Tax.
