Reduction For Disabilities

You may be entitled to a reduction in your Council Tax charges if you or someone living with you is substantially or permanently disabled and requires one of the following:

• A room mainly used by the disabled person to meet their specific needs
• A second bathroom or kitchen to meet the specific needs of the disabled person
• Sufficient floor space to enable the disabled person can use a wheelchair in the home on a day-to-day basis

If you qualify for the disabled relief your Council Tax will be reduced by one valuation band. If your property is in the lowest band (A) then the charge would be reduced by an equivalent amount (1/9^th of a Band D charge).
