Our Homeless Team can provide support and assistance to people who are under threat of losing their home. We can provide advice on a range of issues including welfare rights, housing benefits and tenancy matters. We can also assist if the matter is being taken to court and may be able to attend court with you. If you are over 60 and experiencing problems contact us as we could offer accommodation in one of our developments for older people.
You can arrange an appointment with a Housing Officer by calling 0115 901 3681 or emailing housingservices@gedling.gov.uk. Alternatively you can visit us at the Civic Centre, directions can be found on our Contact Us pages.
We will try to help you stay in your current housing wherever possible. If you cannot stay then we may have a duty to provide you with temporary housing. This depends on why you are homeless and on whether you are in "priority need".
There is a leaflet which gives more information about your rights if you are homeless. It is available from the Civic Centre or can be downloaded here:
If you would like to find private rented housing you can pick a leaflet up from the Civic Centre or download it here:
If you would like to apply for a Council house, please take a look at the page Getting a Home in Gedling.
Other organisations also provide advice and help:
If you do not agree with a decision made by the council you may be able to ask for a review of the decision. Click here if you would like further information.
