How are 'dangerous wild animals' defined?

Animals classified 'dangerous wild animals' are identified in the Dangerous Wild Animals Act, which is available to view in full on the Office of Public Sector Information website. (External site)

How to apply

The current application fee (April 2009 to March 2010) is £155.00, excluding veterinary fees. To make an application under the Act, please return the following form to the address provided:

Our duty

In addition to powers of inspection, the Act also gives us powers to seize any animal being kept on unlicensed premises. Zoos, pet shops and circuses are exempt from the provisions of the Act as these premises are subject to separate licensing requirements.
