Our consultation and research shows that issues relating to safer communities continually appear as a top priority for people in Gedling. We aim to achieve the following: during 2008/2009
Consultation with Gedling residents also highlight their priorities that we will tackle during 2008-2009.
Lead Partnership: Gedling Community Safety Partnership
The Community Safety Partnership is part of Gedling Partnership, and was formed as a result of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. Gedling is currently working towards a merged partnership with Broxtowe and Rushcliffe. (Further information available October 2008). They are coming together to form the South Nottinghamshire Community Safety Partnership.
It is made up of local organisations working together to reduce crime and the fear of crime within the Borough. Gedling Borough Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottinghamshire Police, work alongside local community organisations including the Youth Offending Service, Nottinghamshire Youth Service, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, the Primary Care Trust and the Probation Service.
A key priority is to gather good quality information about anti-social behaviour, drug offences and crime and disorder. This will help the partnership to target resources into identified crime hot spots and to tackle persistent offenders. Together partners share information and ideas about ways in which to reduce crime and the fear of crime.
