household waste siteIf you have items you would like to recycle you can take them to any of our local recycling sites or to one of the household waste and recycling centres (rubbish tips) across Nottinghamshire.

Local Recycling Sites

There are 10 local recycling centres in the Borough where you can recycle your paper, cans, plastic, glass, textiles and cartons. We clean and monitor these daily, but if you would like to report a problem with them then please call, 0115 901 3621 or email waste@gedling.gov.uk.

You can recycle all plastics including thin plastics. Plastic wrappings and carrier bags may be recycled at some supermarkets such as Asda and Sainsbury’s. Foil can also be put in the can banks. Tektra paks (paper based cartons) can go in the plastics bank.

Unwanted engine oil may be taken to Walkers Garage, Burton Road, Carlton.

PLEASE NOTE the recycling centre at ASDA has temporarily moved to the leisure centre car park next door.

Household Waste And Recycling Centres

household wasteThe household waste and recycling centres are managed by Nottinghamshire County Council who can be contacted on 08449 808080 or waste.management@nottscc.gov.uk. You will need a permit if you wish to use a van or trailer to dispose your waste. Please visit their website for more information.

In Gedling there are two household waste and recycling centres.
