Local Recycling Sites

There are 10 local recycling centres in the Borough where you can recycle your paper, cans, plastic, glass, textiles and cartons. We clean and monitor these daily, but if you would like to report a problem with them then please call 0115 901 3621 or email waste@gedling.gov.uk.

Clean foil and foil trays - recycle in the can banks at the sites below.

Drink and food cartons (Tetra paks) - can go in the plastics recycling banks at Sainsbury’s and the Leisure Centre car park in Arnold, at the large Tesco in Carlton and at Morrisons in Netherfield.

Engine oil - may be taken to Walkers Garage, Burton Road, Carlton.

Plastics - any that cannot go in your green recycling bin at home, such as plastic food trays and punnets, or any plastics with the recycling triangle numbers 1, 2, 5 and 6 can be recycled in the plastic banks at Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Arnold Leisure Centre car park.

Plastic bags and plastic wrappers - recycled in-store by some supermarkets, ask when you next go shopping.

Household Waste And Recycling Centres

The household waste and recycling centres are managed by Nottinghamshire County Council who can be contacted on 08449 808080 or waste.management@nottscc.gov.uk. You will need a permit if you wish to use a van or trailer to dispose your waste. Please visit their website for more information.
