Maintenance of Parks, Open Spaces and Cemeteries

The majority of public green space in Gedling Borough is managed by the Grounds Maintenance Section.

From mid March to the end of October the main grounds maintenance operation is grass cutting. The cutting frequency is once every 2 - 3 weeks, aiming for a high quality finish. The grass is not collected and boxed off for environmental and financial reasons.

In parallel with the mowing, the planting out of bedding plants, pitch maintenance, arboricultural works, the weeding of shrub beds, planted areas, and highways takes place during this period.
