Domestic Refuse

The wheeled bin provided is for the storage and collection of domestic household waste. It should not be used to dispose of items such as builders rubble, bricks, soil, concrete blocks and hazardous chemicals. See Special collections.

Your bins are emptied either weekly on a notified day or on alternate weeks for those on the Twin Bin Scheme. This will normally be the same day each week, except around a Bank Holiday, where it may be the Saturday before if the Bank Holiday is a Monday.  You will be notified in advance of any proposed temporary or permanent changes to your collection day.  This page will be updated accordingly.

The bin should be placed on the edge of your property by 7am on the day of your collection (6am for Saturday collections prior to a Bank Holiday).  Please do not to place your bin where it may cause an obstruction to pedestrians or road users. It is the householder's responsibility to recover their bin onto their property at their earliest convenience.

If your bin is damaged, missing or has not been emptied please contact customer services on 0115 901 3621 or alternatively email to waste@gedling.gov.uk
