The Preventative Adaptation Service (PAS) allows people who are unsteady on their feet to install simple safety measures in their home, such as grab rails and half steps.
The scheme arranges for a reliable contractor to carry out works for a £10 fee and is available to anyone aged over 70 who own or rent their own home.
