What does the Environmental Protection Section do?

The Environmental Protection Section provides services in the following areas:

• Contaminated land
• Dog control
• Drainage Investigations
• Environmental Health Careers
• High hedges
• Integrated pollution prevention and control
• Litter and fly tipping enforcement
• Neighbourhood Wardens
• Noise control
• Pest control
• Pollution from construction and demolition sites

We provide advice in all the above areas encompassing everything from anti-social behaviour through to contaminated land. We also actively enforce a wide range of environmental legislation to ensure that the quality of life in the borough is improved. We serve fixed penalty notices for littering through to anti-social behviour orders and contaminated land remediation notices. All of this enforcement is guided by our enforcement policy.

Out of hours contact

Officers will visit outside of normal office hours to investigate complaints and the Neighbourhood Wardens patrol in the evenings. However we do not provide a responsive out of hours noise service.
