We issue permits to businesses who wish to operate or install potentially polluting equipment. If you would like to view the register, enquire more,or complain about pollution from an industrial site contact environmentalhealth@gedling.gov.uk or call 0115 901 3972.
Any new business will usually be asked to apply for A2 or B permit during the planning application stage and must have one before they can operate potentially polluting equipment. Once granted, the permit will detail what measures need to be taken to ensure the environment is within the Best Available Techniques (BAT) for the particular industry.
Some industries with the highest potential to pollute are dealt with by the Environment Agency, but there are none of these currently in Gedling.
