The Council has also committed to pass on the 2.5% VAT savings to customers, as announced by the Government, and has announced that it will commit to pay all invoices to suppliers within 10 days, instead of the current 30 days. Other initiatives include; improving benefit take-up in the area by encouraging those who qualify to claim for the benefits that they are entitled, and the recent transfer of the housing stock to Gedling Homes, a not-for-profit housing organisation, which has released almost £50million of investment into local homes, which benefits both local residents and businesses.
