There is specific information that the Council require to assess whether your property will be eligible to be exempt from Council Tax or whether any other reduction may apply.
To supply the Council with the information required, please click on Flood Damage Report to download a form. Please complete this form and email it back to the Council using CouncilTax@gedling.gov.uk
Alternatively, you may telephone the Local Taxation Section on (0115) 9013950 and provide details over the telephone, or you may visit the Gedling 1Stop and speak to an advisor.
The Council will need to contact you, so please provide a telephone number. Additionally, wherever possible, please take photographs of the damage to aide the Council in making its assessment.

Council Tax is a statutory tax levied on all domestic dwellings, whether houses, flats, bungalows, maisonettes, mobile homes or houseboats. It is a daily charge that is calculated on the band of the property
There are eight valuation bands and they relate to the value of your property as at 1 April 1991. Your property would have been placed in to its valuation band by the Valuation Office Agency. Your Council Tax Demand Notice will detail which band applies to your property .
Gedling Borough Council aims to collect all outstanding Council Tax each year and takes non payment very seriously.
We take all measures possible to collect what is owed and can prosecute those do not pay. Non payment is unfair on those who do pay because they will have subsidise those who do not.
We collect Council Tax on behalf of Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire County Council. and Nottinghamshire Fire Authority
Additionally, if you live in a Parished area of the Borough, there will be an element of the Council Tax collected on behalf of your Parish Council .
