Adaptations to council properties

If you are experiencing problems with mobility in and around the home, e.g. difficulty in getting in and out of the bath, the Council in partnership with the Occupational Therapy Department at the Adult Social Care & Health Department can carry out an assessment to see if assistance could be provided in the form of adaptations to your property, e.g. ramps, grab rails etc. There is considerable demand for adaptations and the Occupational Therapists identify priority cases.

Gedling Borough Council has updated its adaptations policy, an overview of which follows:

The adaptations budget will be spread across the financial year to ensure that funding is targeted at those in the highest need, for example those tenants who cannot be released from hospital until their property has been adapted or suitable alternative accommodation found for them.

For more information on adaptations, please contact your Housing Officer on 0115 901 3652. or e-mail on housingservices@gedling.gov.uk

Alternatively you can contact  the Adult Social Care & Health Department on 0115 9823823 and ask to speak to Occupational Therapy.
