Estate Management

Our Housing Officers deal with a range of estate management issues including neighbour complaints, anti social behaviour, untidy gardens, abandoned vehicles, empty properties and improving the appearance of the area. We aim to ensure that our tenants are able to benefit from the quiet enjoyment of their home and that actions contribute towards the sense of community spirit. The Housing Department aims to visit all tenants within six weeks of their moving in date to ensure that they are happy and have no problems. Housing Officers also undertake quarterly walk abouts of areas where the Council has properties to ensure the community environment is good.

We have procedures relating to noise, anti-social behaviour and harassment, racial harassment and pets, all of which are detailed in your tenants handbook.

Our tenancy agreement details both the responsibilities of the Council and the tenant. A copy is available upon request. We will take action against any tenant who is in breach of their tenancy agreement.

As many of our tenancies are in areas where there are private landlords or owner-occupiers, we work closely with other Council offices, such as the neighbourhood wardens to address problems not just relating to our tenants.
