If you are homeless, or think that you might lose your home, this page has some important information that might help.
Anyone who has a housing problem can ask for advice and help. The sooner you ask for advice and help the more likely your problem can be solved. You can arrange an appointment with a Housing Officer by calling 0115 901 3681.
The Council will try to help you stay in your current housing if that is possible. If you cannot stay then the Council may have a duty to provide you with temporary housing. This depends on why you are homeless and on whether you are in "priority need".
Gedling Borough Council's Homeless Team can provide support and assistance to people who are under threat of losing their home. We can provide advice on a range of issues including welfare rights, housing benefits and tenancy matters. We can also assist if the matter is being taken to court and maybe able to attend court with you.
There is a leaflet which gives more information about your rights if you are homeless. It is available from the Civic Centre or can be downloaded here. Ho3581HomelesLeaf.pdf
Other organisations also provide advice and help to people with housing problems.
