The Housing Department undertakes a three year cyclical review of all suppliers and contractors, it is at this time any new organisation can be considered for inclusion.
This process was carried out in 2006 with Ian Williams being chosen for one of the partnering arrangements to sort day to day repairs, Bullock being chosen to aid with meeting the Decent Homes Standard (2010),
T & S Heating Limited were chosen for gas care and repair.
These partners were chosen by the working group that was initiated to review quality standards. The working group consisted of tenants, councillors, panel members and staff. Several companies submitted an expression of interest in becoming partners with Gedling Borough Council so an elimination process was enforced. The steering group chose six potential candidates for both the day to day repairs and the decent homes work that is needed to be carried out. Each organisation had to have an interview and undertake a presentation.
Each company has a three year arrangement, plus one more dependant on performance.
