The Shadow Board

Gedling Homes is the housing organisation that would take on the Council's homes if tenants vote in favour of transfer.

In preparation for a possible transfer of homes, a Shadow Board of Management has been set up. This will only become a full working Board if the transfer goes ahead. The Board would then have responsibility for running the new organisation and would meet regularly to ensure promises are delivered on time, to discuss and agree plans and policies and to make key decisions. The Shadow Board is made up of 12 members, including four tenants, four independent members and four Council nominees.

During 2007 the Shadow Board will help develop the details of the Council's transfer proposal and board members will receive training in business planning, running an organisation, tenant empowerment and involvement, landlord and tenant law.
