Housing Strategy

Our Housing Strategy for the borough was adopted in March 2010. It sets out our objectives for housing up to 2014, a period that fits with the life of the Local Investment Plan for Greater Nottingham, which is currently being developed in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency.

The Strategy forms an integral part of our Sustainable Community Strategy and describes how our housing objectives will contribute to the Vision of Gedling in 2026 that we have agreed with local residents and stakeholders.

The Housing Strategy does not cover how many new homes should be built in Gedling or where they should be located. This is dealt with by our Local Development Framework.

Homelessness Strategy

The Homelessness Act 2002 requires all local authorities to carry out a review of homelessness and homelessness services in their area.
