For more information and to report an illegal street trader, please contact our Democratic and Community Services section at the Civic Centre on (0115) 901 3627 or email legal&admin@gedling.gov.uk
Whilst no restrictions are in place for the majority of the borough, there are Street Trading bylaws covering parts of Arnold Town Centre that prohibit the sale of goods on any part of the public highway.
These restrictions affect the whole of Front Street and parts of all side roads off it, as well as Worrall Avenue and the area to the side of the Market Place.
On other streets in the borough, street trading could be considered an obstruction to the highway and dealt with accordingly.
Please note that street trading on certain other streets in the borough may be covered by Nottinghamshire County Council.
For more information on the County Council’s criteria defining what qualifies as appropriate use of the highway, please visit the Nottinghamshire County Council website. (External site)
We do not operate a traders’ licensing system under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Powers) Act 1982.
