No elections are scheduled to take place in Gedling Borough during 2008.

Elections to the Borough Council are held every four years and are normally combined with Parish council elections. The last Borough/Parish elections were in May 2007. The next full Borough/Parish elections will be in May 2011.

Parliamentary elections are held every five years, but an election can be called at any time before the five year term is complete. The last parliamentary election was held on 5 May 2005. The Borough of Gedling is split between two parliamentary constituencies, Gedling Constituency and Sherwood Constituency.
European Parliamentary elections are held every five years. The last election was held on 10 June 2004.
Gedling Borough is included in the East Midlands Regional Constituency, which returns six MEPs to the European Parliament. The East Midlands Region comprises the areas of Derby, Derbyshire, Leicester, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland.
The next European elections will be held in June 2009.
The Borough is divided into six County Divisions, returning a total of 10 Councillors to the Nottinghamshire County Council.
County Council elections are held every four years. The last County Council elections were held on 5 May 2005. The next County Council elections will be held on 7 May 2009.
