What’s on offer

The 12 week Positive Moves programme offers exercise opportunities for people with medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, raised cholesterol, depression, anxiety, disabilities and injuries.

If you have a heart condition then this will require more specialist exercise instruction, with more information available on our Heartbeats information page.

How to join the programme

You must first visit your General Practitioner, Practice Nurse or other healthcare professional who will refer you to the Exercise Promotion team.Activities provided by our Positive Moves team

Once you have been referred, the team will contact you to discuss your exercise options. We will then devise a unique exercise programme to suit you, as well as providing continuous support to help reach your goals.

Following the initial 12-week programme you will also receive ongoing help and support to help make physical activity part of your everyday life.
