Carlton Forum Swimming Pool    

Our swimming programme contains a wide variety of sessions to suit every standard of swimmer.

*Please note during the school holidays the timetable will vary, seek further information from the timetable or reception.

Explanation of Pool Sessions

Public swim - under 8’s need to be supervised by an adult over 16 years

Sedate Swim/50+ - ideal for those recovering from injury or those with rheumatic, arthritic and similar conditions. This is also linked with our 50+ club.

Laned Swim - over 14’s only, the pool is divided into three lanes for swimming lengths, slow, medium and fast lanes.  

Timid Swim -over 14s only, the pool is divided in two width ways, a qualified swim instructor will be on poolside to assist those with lesson confidence and ability in the water.  This is also suitable for individuals recovering from injury.

Ladies only - over 14’s only, please note there may be male life guards during this session.

Adults Only - over 14’s only.

Float Fun - both in the main pool and the teaching pool, floats are provided for your enjoyment.  Personal floats and pool toys are not allowed.

Disco Swim - Inflatable session with DJ to pump out the latest tunes, floats are also provided in the small pool during this time

Inflatable Swim - Our new ‘Traffic Jam’ inflatable is put up for your enjoyment. (over 8's only)

Parent & Toddler - The first step in formal tuition - enjoy water games and nursery ryhmes with a qualified instructor on poolside.  Parents are required to be in the water with the children.

*Children wishing to swim in the deep end of the main pool during any session may be asked to complete our standard deep water test for safety reasons.
