We have also made the following considerations to make our facilities more accessible and ensure that we comply with the Disability Discrimination Act:

As well as adapting our facilities to serve people with disabilities, we have also adapted our existing programmes and carried out additional staff training and to make our services more accessible to people with disabilities.

What they said

Rosemary Mousley from Ernehale Lea Day Centre gave the following account of Arnold Leisure Centre:

I have supported service users to access the facilities at Arnold Leisure Centre for many years and have worked with the management to improve facilities for people with disabilities.

Now the pool has an excellent Oxford dipper pool hoist, a superb mobile hoist and a fantastic shower bed, as well as a fantastic new changing room for people with disabilities.

Now many more service users can access the swimming pool, library, Bonington Theatre, Cinema and exercise classes knowing that their personal care needs are no longer a problem.”
