We believe that swimming is an essential life skill that everyone should be able do for the sake of personal safety, general health and because it’s fun!.jpg)
That’s why we promote swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle through our Swimming programme and Learn to Swim scheme, with more details about our swimming pools available below:
Please note that contact details for all our swimming pools are provided on the above links.
Our leisure centres both run and host a number of swimming and scuba diving clubs throughout the borough, with more information available on our Clubs and organisations page.
Free swimming for over 60s in Gedling will end on 1 August following last month’s announcement by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport that national funding is to be withdrawn. Due to the lack of alternative funding, Gedling Borough Council will be unable to continue to offer free swimming to people over the age of 60.
Customers can still enjoy swimming in the borough at Arnold, Carlton Forum and Calverton Leisure Centres, with a variety of affordable packages available. If you are aged 60 years or over, a swimming session will cost £1.70 with a Gedling Leisure Card (£3 without a leisure card), Or alternatively, you can join the DNA membership scheme, which entitles you to unlimited use of the swimming pools, fitness suites and exercise classes from £23.20 a month.
For information about our full range of swimming sessions, please visit our new online timetables service. (External site)
We also offer free after school swimming at all our swimming pools, with details of our eligible sessions included on our Arnold, Calverton and Carlton Forum swimming pages.
