Swimming is a "life skill"; one of those everyone should be competent at and able to do.
Not only from the aspect of safety but also for general health, well being and of course, the fun! Gedling Leisure recognises that the provision of swimming is an important aspect in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and provides swimming facilities throughout the borough for all levels.
Gedling Leisure understands that different sectors of the community have various swimming needs. An extensive programme of activities has been created and designed to suit everyone throughout the borough.
The Gedling Swim Scheme has been developed to provide first class swimming tuition for children.
Based on Gedling Leisure's new water skills and distance award scheme, it provides 13 levels of progression designed to take children from an introduction to the water all the way to advanced personal survival skills.
All lessons are taught by staff who are fully qualified by the Amateur Swimming Association or the Swimming Teachers' Association.
