The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992 requires that businesses notify the local authority in whose area the business is situated of premises containing cooling towers and/or evaporative condensers. Notification is free. The collation of sites with such systems can be useful in the investigation of any outbreak or case of legionelloisis.
