Late Night Refreshment Houses

Any person who keeps premises open for public refreshment resort and entertainment between the hours of 10pm and 5am was historically required to hold a Late Night Refreshment House Licence (LNRHL) as required by the Late Night Refreshment houses Act 1969.

The need for a LNRHL dissapeared with the advent of the new liquor licensing regime on the 24th November 2005 and been replaced with the need to apply for a premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003 where hot food is served after 11.00 PM.
