Private Places of Entertainment

The Private Places of Entertainment (Licensing) Act 1967 historically allowed a local authority to adopt the requirements for licensing dancing, music or other like entertainments which while not being a public entertainment are promoted for private gain.

The Licensing Act 2003 removed the provisions of The Private Places of Entertainment (Licensing) Act 1967 in the new licensing regime administered by local authorities fully from the 24th November 2005. Please see our other licensing pages for applying for a premsies licence or club premsies certificate.
