Track Betting Licences

Track Betting Licences are issued under the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963.

A Track Betting Licence is required where bookmaking has taken place at a track or stadium on more than seven previous days in any year. A licence is required in order to permit tote betting at greyhound tracks.

Once licensed a local authority in whose area the track is situated will appoint a technical advisor and an accountant to monitor the operation of the totaliser.

A licence remains in force for 7 years with an annual fee payable during the term of the licence.

There are no horse or greyhound courses in the Gedling area.
