The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has announced the fees to be charged for the range of licence applications under the Act. The fees are intended to recover the licensing authorities costs in administering, inspecting and enforcing the new licensing regime. Details of the most common fees are listed below. Premises licence fees will be charged in relation to the rateable value band the premises is in:
Band A Main application fee £100 and each year thereafter a charge of £70.
Band B Main application fee £190 and each year thereafter a charge of £180.
Band C Main application fee £315 and each year thereafter a charge of £295.
Band D Main application fee £450 and each year thereafter a charge of £320.
Band E Main application fee £635 and each year thereafter a charge of £350.
Large Premises
In addition the Government has added a multiplier for Band D and E premises where they are exclusively or primarily in the business of selling alcohol (mainly large town and city centre public houses):
Band DMain application fee £450 x 2= £900 and £320 x2= £640 each year thereafter.
Band EMain application fee £635 x 3= £1905 and £350 x 3= £1050 each year thereafter.
Supplementary fee to apply to vary conditions (relates to alcohol only)
In addition applications to vary the current conditions on a licence relating to premises selling alcohol will be charged a variation fee as shown below:
Band A £20 variation fee.
Band B £60 variation fee.
Band C £80 variation fee.
Band D £100 variation fee.
Band E £120 variation fee.
Personal Licenses, Temporary Event Notices (TEN’s) and other fees
An application for the grant or renewal of a personal licence = £37.
The cost of an application for a TEN.= £21.
An application for the grant or renewal of a personal licence = £37
Replacement of a stolen or lost premises licence, club certificate or summary = £10.50.
Application for provisional statement = £195.
Notification of a change of name/address = £10.50
Application to vary licence to specify premises supervisor = £23.
Transfer of premises licence = £23.
Interim authority notice following death etc. of licence holder = £23.
Notification of the change of name or alteration of club rules = £10.50.
Change of registered address of club = £10.50.
Theft, loss of TEN = £10.50.
Theft or loss of personal licence = £10.50.
Duty to notify change of name or address = £10.50.
Right of freeholder etc. to be notified of licensing maters = £21.
