Twin Bin Scheme

Everyone in the borough should have a green bin, a black bin and a glass box as a means to encourage us all to recycle. For an A-Z of what can and can’t be recycled visit the Recycling for Nottinghamshire website.

If you have a bin which needs to be replaced please contact us on waste@gedling.gov.uk or call 0115 901 3621.

Green Bins

Use these to recycle paper, card, cans, plastics bottles, margarine tubs and yoghurt pots. Please do not put your rubbish into plastic carrier bags as this contaminates the load which may result in it being sent to a landfill site instead of being recycled. Black Bins

Use these to put all your other rubbish in, except batteries, liquids, light bulbs, florescent tubes and electrical items. Use the Household Waste and Recycling Centres to dispose of these items.

Glass Box

Use these bins to put all your drinks bottles and food jars in. Please make sure remove lids first- metal/plastic lids can go in your green bins. We will collect these bins on the same days as your green bins, please put them out by 7am on your collection day (bank holidays at 6am).
